Scott Klusendorf
Equipping Christians to Engage the Culture. Crossway, 2009.
As President Obama signed the executive order repealing the policy that limited federal tax dollars for stem cell research on March 9, 2009, the release of Scott Klusendorf’s The Case for Life couldn’t be more timely.
Klusendorf travels throughout the United States and Canada training pro-life advocates to persuasively communicate their views in the public square. This book will provide intellectual grounding for pro-life convictions and help readers articulate issues of abortion, cloning, and embryo research from a biblical perspective in the face of an increasingly secularized culture. The Case for Life will equip readers to answer critics who claim that pro-life advocates provide no reasonable defense for their views, when in fact the pro-life position contains more explanatory power than the abortion-choice and pro-embryonic positions.
Klusendorf simplifies the debate: the sanctity of life is not a morally complex issue. It’s not about choice, privacy, or scientific progress. To the contrary, the debate turns on one key question: What is the unborn?
While this book is primarily for pro-life Christians, it will benefit any pro-life supporter looking to communicate these principles. We can impact culture provided we properly understand and articulate the pro-life message.

New titles due out this month include:
- The New Creationism by Paul Garner
“This book is greatly needed in helping to popularize creation model-building as it introduces the reader to the best contemporary creationist models in astronomy, geology, biology, and so on — and at a level the layperson can understand.”
- Ken Ham, President, Answers in Genesis — U.S. / Creation Museum
- Practice Makes Perfect (a new edition to the Welwyn Commentary Series) by Anthony Bird
- Stars in God’s Sky by Faith Cook
“If Faith Cook wrote a comic book, I would buy it! Reading her mini-biographies, as in Stars in God’s Sky (and a raft of others), is always a soul-nourishing, faithfortifying exercise. I love her tendency to bypass the all-stars and focus on the ‘dirt disciples’ who simply slug it out in faithfulness to Jesus. We are again in her debt. ‘My father used to tell me, “Anything J. C. Ryle writes is good!” And I’ve the same opinion of Faith Cook. I hope preachers read her stuff — it’ll both nourish their souls and improve their sermon illustrations!”
- Dr Ralph Davis, Woodland Presbyterian Church Hattiesburg, MS
