Dr. Baxter’s book, Going Deeper, was used of God early in my adult life. The Lord, using the first half of that book, for several months “turned me every way but loose” (as my father and mother would say). I only met him twice and the second time the Lord used him again in regards to my future course and “walk of faith” (as the Apostle Paul would say).
The Master Theme of the Bible, is focused on Christ as the lamb in the Old Testament and on Jesus the Christ as the lamb in the New Testament. As such the former has to do with ‘the mystery of Christ’ Colossians. 4:3, and the latter has to do with ‘I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren that have the testimony of Jesus…for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.’ Revelation 19:10 It is more than a great book!

A wonderful christology emphasizing the centrality of the person and work of the saviour and consumator of all things, even JESUS, The Lamb of GOD. A highly recomended book for those who love what GOD loves.

Great Book!!
As missionary in Indonesia I started to use it for systematical teaching - GREAT for giving insight in God’s eternal plan and purpose as well as for getting folks excited about the Bible.
